• 4th floor renovation - Serviam is completing a phased fourth-floor renovation in an occupied VA medical center. The work reconfigures clinical, nursing, administrative, and support functions and includes demolition, architectural and structural work, HVAC, plumbing, medical gas, fire protection, electrical, communications, nurse call, fire alarm, access control, patient lifts, casework, specialty equipment, finishes, testing, and closeout. The September 2026 project schedule reported 99 percent overall completion.

• Steam project - Serviam Construction is serving as prime contractor for the approximately $15.7 million Replace Steam Systems project at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center in Altoona, Pennsylvania. The project includes major replacement and modification of steam, condensate, heating-water, controls, and supporting electrical systems across multiple buildings, including new and replacement piping, heat exchangers, condensate pumps, steam traps, hydronic pumps, unit heaters, radiant heating panels, controls, and wireless steam-trap monitoring.

  Construction is being performed throughout an active medical center under a 44-zone phasing plan that includes ICRA Class III and IV areas, restricted work hours, temporary barriers and HEPA controls, and tightly coordinated shutdowns. Serviam is managing temporary steam, condensate, power, and bypass systems; mechanical and electrical coordination; certified welding; testing and balancing; commissioning; and critical utility tie-ins, including shutdowns limited to defined windows to maintain continuous hospital operations.

• Renovation of Kitchen 26-201 - Construct a Teaching kitchen with flooring, cabinetry, ceilings, plumbing fixtures, a/v equipment, lighting, power, and HVAC distribution; remove existing glazing and replace with insulated panels in the dry storage room, remove existing LVT flooring and prep subfloor and install quarry tile flooring with rubber base; construct three exam rooms with cabinetry, lighting, power, conditioned air and heat and medical gas connectors; selective hazardous materials remediation, replace existing refrigeration units in food service kitchen and morgue; provide new condensing units on second floor roof; provide grease interceptors for a 3-compartment power soak sink, dishwasher, and 3-compartment scullery sink in the food service kitchen and dish room; revise existing fire suppression sprinkler and fire alarm system to accommodate architectural partition modifications; provide CAT6 data cabling for teaching kitchen and exam rooms.

• EHRM - Electronic Healthcare Records Modernization (EHRM) infrastructure upgrades project. Addresses necessary information technology (IT) upgrades to modernize existing infrastructure to support a new EHRM system that follows VA IT and health records requirements.

• VRF System - Demo of existing Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) System. Install new VRF System and related valves, fittings, and system control devices. Complete programming and other minor electrical work.

• Emergency Gas - The Altoona VA Medical Center discovered a Gas Leak in their exterior system.  Serviam was the emergency contractor who responded, tested to found the leak and make the repair.  This involved digging a 6 x 8 foot hole in the parking lot, repairing the leak, backfilling, and repaving the location.
